2018 was quite a year for us! Kyle and I came out of 2017 exhausted from all the healing our hearts did in the wake of our dear baby Anthony’s death. We walked into 2018 with our arms open wide asking for God to redeem and restore us. What we didn’t expect was the abundance that would overwhelm our life!
We made some serious life changes like starting the KETO diet at lost over 40 lbs between the two of us! My yoga practice grew and changed in such beautiful ways that I found myself accomplishing new heights I never thought possible and we both grew in our musical abilities and leadership skills by leaps and bounds. I nearly attended a Graphic Design Program even after I knew I was expecting our second baby, but decided to focus on motherhood and ministry instead! That was tough, but I was thrilled to have been accepted and to know that I have what it takes. Goodness knows, one door closed is another door opened. I am hopeful for future opportunities for Graphic Design down the road!
We took our house which was already everything we needed, and turned it into an art project! We painted, gardened, patched, and replaced in nearly every room. We now have a house that is not only used and loved well, but can also house friends and family who come to visit with ease. Our visitors have come from South Korea, Oregon, and Seattle! I had a blast turning our room into a tropical themed paradise in honor of our beautiful tropical vacations that we have taken to Maui (on our Honey Moon in ‘14), Italy (in ‘17), and Mexico (Spring of ‘18). My craft room went from bland to BEAUTIFUL as well. I may not buy into the “Farm House” aesthetic, but when it comes to rustic or antique mixed with modern, you know I can’t get enough. We have been trying to host “Game Nights” at our house as well as holidays as often as possible.
The only room we didn’t touch until the last month was the prophetically pink painted nursery. We have been experiencing grief from the loss of our first child in many different ways and sometimes in different spaces. That room held a lot of fear and doubt for us. I am so glad that the joy and life that comes with a new baby and a new story (however it may go) opens up new doors literally. We are now in the process of getting that room redesigned and ready to go for our little girl Resa (Theresa Renee Craviotto)! I have spent time working on it by myself and have experienced a lot of inner healing.
We haven’t just been home bodies, though! We traveled to Mexico for the first time, went to our first major Comic Convention (Emerald City Comicon), and lead worship at Glacier National Park for the second year running where we caught a NASTY flu bug. I look forward to writing about each of these trips in future blogs in 2019! Kyle got the awesome opportunity to attend the Microsoft Build Conference in Seattle this year for work and I had the amazing pleasure of attending a Holy Yoga NorthWest retreat and the Holy Yoga experience early in the year in Seattle which set me up for the sweet ministry opportunity. I got to work at Otis Fitness in Otis Orchards, WA. It’s amazing how encouragement at the beginning of the New Year can set a course and direction for great things to follow.
In that same vein, we are excited to announce that you can expect a lot of content in 2019. Kyle and I spent some serious time this last week of 2018 brainstorming and planning for the New Year to come. We have not made any promises or resolutions, but we have begun crafting the Mission and Vision for our family moving forward. We are excited about sharing our lives publicly with whomever will engage, so that our family might grow and so that people like yourself can see who God is in our lives and maybe invite Him into more of yours!
Thank you for reading my first major blog post and my last post of the year. Tune in next year to see where our mission takes us and how our vision of a more connected and loving life will come to fruition.
So how about you? What are your personal goals for the coming year? Have you found someone to hold you accountable to your resolutions? Do you know what your mission is and what it will look like to see it accomplished?
Email or comment your ideas and let us be your partners in crime! We would love to be praying for you and creating content to help encourage you. Let us know.
Much love and God double bless,
Aub Dog of CraviAwesome
